  1. Hi Liz, quite impressive video for me, it made me shake and think about those millions of girls affected by this problem in the world. The power of education may change something to avoid these things keep on happening.

  3. Hi Carlos and Georgina, thanks for your comments, you are both right, education is the solution...hopefully this will start happening but yes, the world is in such a mess, it is not always the most logical and obvious things that happen but the opposite! But we've got to keep trying...

  4. Education is only part of the problem it affects 50 million 12- years old girls in poverty, they can become prostituded girl, raped o battered.
The place of birth is more important, it isn´t the same to be born in France, England, Unit States or Spain that in India, Somalia or Pakistan.
In Pakistan the girls between seven and twelve years old are married with man of forty or fifty years old. They forced her sexual relations, that is, they are raped and the worst of it is the permission of her parents, for tradition, ignorance , education and poverty.
Most of these countries including Pakistan have signed (1996) the CONVENTION ON THE ELIMINATION OF ALL FORM OF DISCRIMINATION AGAINST WOMEN.
But it doesn´t comply whith these rules. At the moment it seems that INTERNATIONAL GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION is more important financial interests, the arms industry... that human interests.
If some women is interested in to defence the basic right on her country like Pakistan she may lose her life as Benazir Bhutto.
    That great problem!.
    Regards,
    Alicia

  5. Yes, you are totally right, Alicia, the arms industry and financial interests really seem to be more important to those in power....it is really awful to think about that...I think we all just have to keep talking about it and spreading the word...we in the west are so priveliged, I think it's our responsability to help those less priveliged than us....thanks for your detailed contribution.

  6. Hi Liz and everyone

This type of politics against unwanted pregnancy are essential in this side of the world. I think the only solution against this problem is education, information and responsability.I think all society is responsible this problem, parents, family, teachers, doctors, everyone. I know this solution is very slow but I think is only one.
In other side of the world I think is more complicated solve this problem becasue it's mixed demografic, cultural, economic and other reasons, but we can't stop fighting.

    Bye

  7. Hi, Liz.
I have got a little daughter who is only five years old. I am afraid of her future. I am hoping education will be the solution but there are a lot of other ways that can influence in a girl´s life.

  8. Hi Raul and Lumi, thanks for your thoughts on this.
Raul, exactly, I think we have to keep a fighting spirit, like you say.
Lumi, I totally believe that Education is the answer too...but I know what you mean about outside influences, I am sure you are doing a fantastic job with your daughter. At 5 years old, children have such a lovely natural curiosity and innocence.

  9. This is a very painful issue for health reasons, and because girls are not allowed to enjoy their childhood, and this stage of life can not be recovered.
In addition, a childhood with all the rights guaranteed influences that as adults they will have more good conditions in their lives.

    Happy children = happy adults

The solution is complicated, but I think basically you have to base it on education, but not only children, also parents. They should know that there are other opportunities for their daughters, there is a wider horizon.

Isolation, culture, poverty, and the struggle for survival, does not help stopping to think about alternatives.

We must not forget to educate "boys." They are parents, have daughters, and must try to ensure all their rights.
