ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE SPEAKING TOPICS
Advanced and Intermediate
Please go to this site Conversation Questions and select a topic and some questions (4-5) to answer. ** Remember the questions are only a guide to help you think of ideas, in your presentation you do not have to mention the questions!
Intermediate: Prepare a 1-2 minute talk on the topic using the questions you have chosen as a guide.
Advanced: Prepare a 2-3 minute talk on the topic using the questions you have chosen as a guide.
** Advanced, you should select the more challenging and difficult topics as this
will be good practice for the Speaking exam.
You will present your topic to a group of 4 of your class mates. You may prepare some notes but you cannot read consistently from your notes. It has to be similar to the exam situation. You will receive feedback from your class mates on how you did. This will be done in a friendly and non-threatening way. The objective is for you to help each other. The CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK will be based on:
1. Fluency and Pronounciation; 2. Variety of Grammar Structures;
3.Vocabulary; 4. Relevance and Coherence of Content;
5. Confidence Shown in Speaking.
I will also give feedback, when necessary. This activity will form part of your speaking grade for your continuous assessment.
Please, prepare this speaking activity for next week (beginning April the 11th). Monday/Wednesday groups prepare for Wednesday the 13th. Tuesday/Thursday groups prepare for Thursday the 14th. Enjoy! (Remember our mantra: Yes, You Can! ; ))
